An Idea was Born

BookStorm was founded by us, Rishik and Rohil Srivastava (then 8 and 12) in 2012. While on a vacation to Mumbai, India, we visited a school in a high poverty district where our grandmother aids as a classroom volunteer. For the first time in our lives, we witnessed firsthand, the handicap that a lack of books imposes on children of all ages. The school children were bright, motivated, and eager to learn. However, they had almost no books or school supplies to aid them in their learning! From that day, we made it our mission to promote literacy in under-served children by collecting and donating books. To this day, we have donated over six thousand books to under-served communities in the Bay Area and beyond.
