How can YOU help?

Internet-enabled digital devices

Our focus right now is to promote digital literacy amongst under-served children

BookStorm and Cada Familia Cuenta (CFC, www.cadafamiliacuenta.org) are working together to provide Internet-enabled devices to at least 300 low-income families in the unincorporated North Monterey County district. BookStorm will collect your donations on behalf of CFC. A volunteer CFC Tech Squad will ensure that the donated devices are wiped clean and ready for use. CFC is working with Digital Nest(www.digitalnest.org) to provide Internet access to at least 300 families, but they will need Internet-enabled devices to use the Internet service.

Please donate your gently used Internet access devices (laptops, tablets, smartphones).** If it is WiFi enabled (and it still works, of course), we would gratefully accept it's donation. It will help children in urgent need and help narrow the digital divide.

**IMPORTANT NOTE: Please make sure you delete any personal or important data from the device before you donate. Bookstorm has NO resources to clean the stored data of any donated devices. While the CFC Tech Squad volunteers will check to ensure that the devices do not have personal information, it is important that you delete any information that may be valuable before donating the device.

UPCOMING - A handy guide from DigitalNEST.org on how to cleaning out digital devices.
