BookStorm was chosen as the Youth-Led Organization of the Month, April 2021, by the Teen Commission of the city of Cupertino. Check us out on the Instagram and Facebook pages of the city of Cupertino.
We are honored to be chosen and hope it enables us to reach out to the generous Cupertino community even more to promote digital literacy among under-served children.
"Some organizations have connections to communities, others have coherence in their strategies but a rare few have authenticity of heart. The BookStorm creators’ brothers Rishik and Rohil have mastered all three of these qualities. The closer you look, the more you see, and it will fill you with gratitude." - Devorah Duncan, Board Chairperson CFC North Monterey County, Retired ELL Specialist and Teacher, N. Monterey County School District
BookStorm and Cada Familia Cuenta partnered to donate digital devices, books, board games and art and craft supplies to children in N. Monterey County in August 2021
"All Students Matter appreciates partnering with BookStorm so that we can host a free book fair for students in the Ravenswood City School District. The students love picking out favorite authors and genres and being able to keep the books they select. We hope to continue our partnership with BookStorm in the years to come“ - Jeanette Kennedy, Chairman of the Board, All Students Matter
"Thank you for bringing us happiness and cool stuff. Our parents don’t have money for fun, only for bills" -Ruby, 8, N. Monterey County School District
"BookStorm is such a valuable program for our community. It's a wonderful feeling to donate books that your own children have loved and outgrown knowing that BookStorm will deliver those beloved books to kids who need them and will benefit immensely. It's a rare program and we are so blessed to have it in Cupertino" - Nancy, Cupertino resident, BookStorm supporter
I stumbled upon BookStorm when I looked to donate my children’s books and so my journey with this organization began. I soon realized that BookStorm was quite unique as it was founded by young children in Cupertino, still in elementary school, after a visit to India where they witnessed poverty and illiteracy first hand.
They chose to act rather than stay idle. They collected and donated books to those children. They ultimately extended their efforts locally by reaching out to immigrants’ and underprivileged children.
As a fellow resident of Cupertino, it was my honor to assist BookStorm with collection of books, school supplies and board games.
I encourage everyone to support this benevolent organization in order to promote literacy and help the less fortunate. You can make a difference!
Kudos to BookStorm! - Sharon Safdie, Cupertino resident, BookStorm supporter
